Cake Monster

In May, one of Jack's friends had a birthday party! Jack had such a fun time playing the games and was very anxious for cake time!

The birthday boy!

I tried to get a picture of Jack with the party hat on... he loves party hats, but he rarely wants to wear them!

Austin did much better wearing his party hat!

And then, Jack's favorite part of birthday parties! Time to sing Happy Birthday!

The cake was so cute, but I think the boys would have devoured it even if it was a cake straight off of CakeWrecks! It was so yummy!

Me: Jack, you have cake all over your face!
Jack: I know!
Me: You do?
Jack: Yes. Momma, I'm the CAKE MONSTER!

Unplanned Outing

On our way home from dropping off a prescription for Grandma Han, Jack said "Momma, I don't want to go home. Let's go to the beach!"

So we did!

I just can't resist that sweet little boy! I stopped by the house and grabbed Jack's swim trunks and a beach towel (everything else was already in the car), and we headed to the beach, where I nursed Sam while Jack played in the sand.

I guess that is technically Sam's first beach trip, even though we have walked The Strand numerous times and didn't go by the water... that was the first time that he went to the beach to watch Jack Jack play!

Marching In May

I'm not sure that Jack really understood what a parade was (although I'm probably wrong, as Ang tells me "Your kid understands everything!"), but he was really excited to get to sit with grandma and wave an American Flag!

He sat and waited, but he didn't have to wait too long before he started pointing and getting super excited!

He had so much fun watching each part of the parade! He clapped for everyone and waved to everyone (except for the guy that started waving back to him!). He loved the marching bands and every time they came by he'd clap and start marching in place, and then tell grandma and/or grandpa to march, too!

Can you guess what he spied here, that cause him to nearly spasm out as he climbed all over my dad to get a better peek? That's right... a helicopter!

He was so stoked on that helicopter! It kept coming around and around again and he had his eyes glued to it every time it came around! He kept calling it "My Helicopter!" because he had gotten to "fly" it the night before!

Sam was mostly oblivious to the fun that was going on... he was content to have his daddy with us!

I wasn't sure if the parade would hold Jack's attention... it is a long time for a three-year-old to sit and watch stuff... but I needn't have been concerned... Jack really had such a great time, and he kept asking "What's next?"

And just in case you're curious, cause I know you're not, my favorite part of the parade, aside from watching Jack Jack experience it, was the Army's fire engines! They rolled down the street spraying kids, and it was cold! Of course, if they had gotten us wet I'd probably say that was my least favorite part, but luckily the sweet kids that we were with listened to me when I told them to go stand in front of other people and asked to be sprayed! Sorry, strangers! Have to keep my camera babies dry!

Thank you, Shelly, for saving seats for us and letting us join you! We had such a great time!!!

When He Grows Up, He Wants To Be A Helicopter

Jack is such a lucky kid- he gets to do the coolest stuff! Our city has a parade for Armed Forces Day, and on the day of and the days surrounding the parade they have the vehicles for the parade on display for the kids to climb on! Jack Jack is a total boy when it comes to these things, and I was so excited that he got to experience all of these cool things! Jack, of course thought it was awesome, and I could see the wheels in his head turning as his imagination ran wild as he climbed on helicopters, tanks, fire engines and other cool vehicles! As you could probably guess if you know my kid at all, he was amazed by the helicopters, which he thought was the coolest part, and since they had three helicopters there, many vehicles got overlooked due to the tunnel vision that occurs when a three-year-old has his favorite thing in sight! He was so proud of himself as he sat in the helicopters, and he announced to everyone he saw that he was in a real helicopter!

As you can see, he was incredibly excited about those cool helicopters! Here are some pictures from that day...

This last picture cracks me up... when my dad lifted him up to see the warship replica, Jack looked at the guns that were poking out of the ship and said "Oh, look at the tiny Light Sabers!"

Better Start Saving For Med School!

Tonight as I was putting Sam down in his crib I heard Jack talking to himself from the bathroom as he was doing his business. I couldn't really hear what he was saying, but as I neared the bathroom I heard "Now I put this around my throat, and Ta-da!" Hearing 'put this around my throat' made me nervous, so I hurried to the bathroom, where I saw Jack, sitting on the pot with a big smile on his face, and he says...

"Look mom, I'm Doctor Jack Jack!"

I Heart Faces Week 23- Play

I couldn't decide what to do for this challenge! The topic was Play which could mean just about anything, and I just couldn't narrow down any of my favorite photos of Jack playing to just one. So I decided to go a different route (for me, anyway), and post a photo I took of my little brother as he conducted the orchestra in playing one of his compositions. So proud of him :)

Head on over to I Heart Faces to see more photos of faces at play!

Blog Break...

And this time it has been due to neither of the reasons that I mentioned in this post! No, this time the long break has been because our internet went out 2 weeks ago and we haven't been able to figure it out! I've been able to intermittently steal borrow a neighbor's bandwidth (that's the right word, right?), as I'm doing now, but my newer laptop isn't able to connect to that for some reason and my older laptop, the one with the broken screen, is hooked up to the desktop's monitor, and I'm not always able to sit at for very long. But this is a good opportunity to post out of order, like I said that I was going to do, also in this post.

So, here we go *deep breath*...

Look how freaking cute my kids are!!!

Yes, Sammy looks a little scared. He adores Jack, but he feels a little safer from a distance, when Jack isn't holding him. Jack tends to love with very strong arms, and though he has yet to actually shmush Sam, I know that Sam is thinking that it's only a matter of time. But really, he does adore Jack Jack! See how Jack makes him laugh?

How do you think I got Sam to smile so beautifully for his 3 month pictures? That's right... big brother to the rescue!!!
