I Heart Faces- Jump For Joy

Okay, I know I promised birth stories next, but those may take a while... I may have to put aside my OCD that doesn't allow me to post out of order and just start catching up with the events that I AM ready to post and just do the birth stories when I get around to them!

I know, though, that I do want to start participating with I Heart Faces again! This week the theme is Jump For Joy, and boy do we have a lot to be joyful about around here! This afternoon we started taking pictures of both of the boys with their Big Brother/Little Brother shirts on that my friends, The Storks, sent for them... I won't comment on whether or not we were successful at getting our 2.5 year old and 2.5 week old to cooperate- at the same time- for mommy's camera, but let's just say that it didn't take long for us to move on from that to attempting to get a Jump For Joy shot. That was slightly easier once we figured out that nothing fancy was going to work...

First, Dave threw a "cape" on Jack and told Jack he was going to toss him in the air. Great idea, right? Jack thought so, too! That is, until Dave actually tossed him in the air. I didn't even get a test shot before Jack decided that it was just too scary and clung to Dave for dear life, refusing to allow him to toss him any more.

Then, we had Jack stand on the tree-stump in the backyard and jump off of it. Or rather, I should say "jump" off of it. Jack is not the most athletic child around, and to him, jumping off of the stump looks more like stepping off the stump very carefully.

After that we tried having Jack hold Dave's hands to jump off the stump. Well, apparently Jack is very aware that he's not the most athletic child around, because while he did get both feet in the air, his face was a perfect picture of such a combination of pure exhilaration and terror. That's right, terror. Of jumping off of a 6-inch-high stump while holding daddy's hands. Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely adorably cute, but the theme was Jump For Joy, not Jump In Terror!

So we gave up trying to get an awesomely cool shot of Jack, the daredevil, flying through the air, and just told him to jump as high as he could. Check out his CRAZY AIR!

Okay, so Javier Sotomayor he is not, but check out the look of pure JOY on his face! That's exactly the shot I was going for. (And yes, both feet actually did make it off the ground, even though it doesn't exactly look like they did here... maybe I should cut my grass!)

Don't forget to head over to I Heart Faces to check out some more High Flyin' Fun!
