One Last Outing

In early February the weather had been cold and slightly wet... you know, the kind of weather that prompts every local news station to announce "Storm Watch 2010" since Southern Californians tend to freak out over any precipitation, no matter how minimal. Jack and I had already been cooped up for a week because Jack had been sick and were going completely stir crazy being forced to stay indoors for so long. So when we saw that the forecast called for a bright, sunny day on February 16th, we jumped at the chance to have a playdate at the park!

Jack was anxious to get to go play and didn't want to pose for a picture with his cousin

He couldn't wait to get on the swings! He likes to use the "baby swings" because he is allowed to go much higher in them... I don't trust him not to just let go on the "big boy" swings and don't push him very high on those!

Luke had a blast watching Jack Jack on the swings...

And then he got bored...

Finally another swing opened up and Luke got his chance to try swinging!

Grandma had a lot of fun going back and forth between the swings, giving each of her boys a push as needed

Then another swing opened up and Austin got to join us!

We took the opportunity to get one last picture of Ang and me and our boys while it was still just the 4 of us. Pardon Jack's lack of attention, though...

He had just seen "the biggest lawn mower I ever saw!" and we could not tear his gaze from it!

Since it was the middle of February, I was the only mom who had remembered to put sunscreen on her kid, and since Luke was too young for sunscreen just yet our playdate didn't last very long. Jack really didn't want to leave so soon, so we bribed him by letting him walk on the rocks on the way back to the car.

Jack is just getting sooo big! I can't believe how fast he's growing up. Doesn't he look absolutely huge?! I don't think I will ever get used to people asking me if he is 4 or 5, rather than just 2... even in a few years when he actually is 4 or 5 rather than just 2!
