Summer Swim Class

Last summer I signed Jack up for two sessions of swim class, which ended up being too much for us, but really helped Jack's swimming!  He was still pretty flail-y, but I saw a definite improvement in his ability, which of course I was very pleased about.  What I was even more pleased about, though, was that his level of enthusiasm never flagged!  He may still have been a sinker, but he was also still the most joyful sinker I've ever seen!

The other thing that amazed me was that Sam, who was not two-and-a-half, still remembered Jack's swim classes from the year before!  When we got up to the observation deck on the first day he immediately asked me if I had brought a banana for him to eat... which is what I had done the year before!  He had a lot of fun watching his brother's swim classes.  The first day, as we watched Jack walk through the doors and disappear into the locker room to get to the pool Sam said "I love him, momma!"  Me too, kid.  Me too.

July 4, 2012

Apparently I didn't take any photos of fireworks last year!  In fact, I didn't take many photos at all!  I did take some, though... and here they are:
We went swimming that morning, apparently

And then, per our new tradition, we headed to the beach to play and watch the fireworks!

Botanical Gardens... Photos, Photos, Photos!

I don't have a lot to say about this other than it was a really fun playdate that we really look forward to every summer, but I love the photos and I want to post them even though I don't have much to say about them ;)

A Well-Timed Father's Day

Two days after Dave got home from Mozambique we were still sticking to him like glue with as much as we missed him, so it was perfect that it was Father's Day and we got to tell everyone around us how much we love him!  Dave thought it would be fun to take the boys to see the Pirate show for Father's day, so that's what we did.  They LOVED it!  Sam was a little scared because it was dark and loud, but he was cheering with the rest of us as he covering his ears and burying his face in my shoulder, and he said that he really liked it!  It was a great way to celebrate Father's Day and Dave being home with us!

Bradley's First Birthday

The day after Dave got home from Mozambique we went to my cousin's son's first birthday party.  We were really excited because my cousin lives on the other side of the country and we hardly ever get to see them.  Plus, it was a pool party and they had a bounce house so the boys were thrilled!
