Happy Birthday, Lukers!

On August 18th, Luke turned one year old!  So we headed over to my sister and brother-in-law's house for a small family party.

Sam, who turned 6 months old on the same day Luke turned 1 (Sam was born on the day Luke turned 6 months!), got his first taste of sweet potatoes at the party!

I made Luke an Elmo smash cake, and as you can see, he loved it!  He wasn't quite sure what to do with it once we were done singing Happy Birthday to him.  He kind of thought it was a little weird to be eating Elmo's face, I think!

He was pretty hesitant to eat the cake, but he did enjoy the frosting!

Jack was very anxious for Luke to eat his cake.  I had made a bigger cake for everyone else to eat, and Jack knew that once Luke ate his cake, then he got to have a piece of the other cake.  He encouraged Luke to eat his cake and then asked "Can we have the large cake, now?"

Then Luke got to open gifts!  Poor kid was so tired that I didn't get many pictures of him opening gifts, but he was a very lucky one-year-old!

And he didn't mind when Sam tested out one of his new toys!

I can't believe he's one!  It seems like just last month he was a teeny tiny little baby!
